MWW Group is dedicated to reducing its global warming impact, improving quality of life, and our country's energy security. Since 2007, MWW Group has led by example, committing to being CarbonFree® through a partnership with Carbonfund.org, the country's leading nonprofit organization offering carbon reduction and offset solutions.
Over the past 4 years, MWW Group has reduced the carbon impact from our business operations, totaling over 4,600 metric tons of CO2 and 1,494,000 KwH of clean renewable wind energy equivalent to powering 130 homes for a year through our partnership and support of Carbonfund.org. That's equivalent to the emissions from over 11,900 barrels of oil consumed or taking 984 cars off the road for one year.
MWW Group's ongoing partnership with Carbonfund.org will continue to support innovative, verified projects globally in renewable energy and reforestation that reduce carbon emissions and hasten market transformation towards a clean energy economy.
This year, MWW Group is supporting the Indian Mesa Desert Ski Wind Farm located in Pecos County, Texas. This project has a collection of 125 Vestas V-47 wind turbines that were created to produce up to 83 megawatts of electricity. It benefits both the environment and the community by producing locally sourced and renewable energy, providing additional jobs, mitigating climate change, and producing no localized water or air pollution.
2010 marks the fourth year of this partnership and MWW Group is continuing to prove itself as an industry leader in addressing climate change.
