Becker to Lead MWW’s DialogueMedia Practice

Becker to Oversee Company’s Industry-Leading Social and Digital Media Team

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - May 06, 2009 - MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the nation’s top ten public relations firms, today announced that Joseph Becker has been promoted to lead the agency’s industry-leading DialogueMedia practice.  As group vice president and practice leader, Becker will oversee the firm’s nationwide online engagement team and provide senior digital media counsel to many of MWW Group’s top clients.  Becker, who previously served as a vice president within the DialogueMedia practice, will assume practice leader responsibilities from Saurabh Wahi who is departing the firm after an eight year tenure to pursue graduate studies.

Since joining the DialogueMedia team as a vice president, Becker has played an important role in directing social and digital strategies for many of the firm’s major accounts including 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Deloitte, Volkswagen and others. Prior to joining MWW Group, Becker served as an associate director at Peppercom where he was responsible for the overall strategy and marketing activities for the agency’s digital communications practice.

Previously, Becker spent three and a half years as an external communications specialist at IBM where he directed communications initiatives for the company’s Emerging Internet Technology and Web 2.0 division.  Prior to IBM, Becker served a four-year stint at Hill & Knowlton public relations where he rose to the level of Account Supervisor and led strategy for such major global brands as Hewlett-Packard/Compaq, Motorola, British Telecom and others.  Becker began his career at Mobil where, as a deputy legislative assistance, he provided legislative assistance to the Mobil-Exxon merger teams and contributed to the company’s lobbying initiatives.
